Competiton poster for Bloomsday Writers Competition for Young Authors

The Museum of Childhood Ireland and Marsh’s Library are searching for new stars in the field of literature with the launch of the annual Bloomsday Writing Competition for Young Authors.

Each year has a Joycean based theme and the 500 word (or under!) challenge for 2024 is to:

Write a short piece of fiction, inspired by Joyce’s Ulysses. Your story must be set where you live now, but based in 2124. Think about what the people and the place will be like 100 years from now.

The deadline is 1st June 2024 and all the details and criteria can be found here.

All entries to be sent by a parent/guardian or teacher to: eeivers@museumofchildhood.ie

Best of luck to all the budding writers!
