Hugh Maffett (ed.), The Catiline and Jugurthine Wars. Translated from Sallust (Dublin, 1772).

Binding: Dublin gold-tooled dark green morocco. Across the middle of the upper cover: ‘Rt. Honble. Earl of Belvedere’; across the lower: ‘1773’. A similar all-over design within each half cover; birds, rosettes, flowers and leaf branches flow from pointillé curved lines which radiate from a vase at the top (and bottom); also used are the symmetrical flourish and flame plant illustrated by Maurice Craig. The flame-plant is also tooled on two fawn onlaid leather vesicæ. Thistle border roll. Flat spine tooled to six compartments, with red lettering-piece in the second; paper ticket attached to the first. Comb-marbled endleaves and gilt edges.
