Bram’s interest in the poetry of Gordon is just as perplexing as his interest in Downes' poems.
Mr. Gordon’s Poems of 1836 sometimes attains the heights of mediocrity but is, for the most part, content to wallow at the level of the genuinely atrocious. The worst of these compositions is perhaps ‘To a Friend, who requested a List of Theological Books’.
