Jonathan Swift read in our library

Jonathan Swift, the Irish writer perhaps most famous as the author of Gulliver’s Travels, was Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral next door to Marsh’s. He was a Governor of the Library, and attended meetings of the board of trustees known as Governors and Guardians.
