Letter from Daniel O’Connell to his wife

These images show the letter that Daniel O’Connell wrote to his wife on the morning that the Emancipation Act passed in 1829.

Daniel scribbled this letter shortly before he set off to Westminster on that momentous day.

This is one of several Daniel O’Connell letters in our Benjamin Iveagh Library at Farmleigh. The full catalogue of the contents of the library at Farmleigh will soon be available on our website: www.marshlibrary.ie
