Mapping History: new online exhibition

Explore this gorgeous exhibition of rare maps in Marsh’s Library and the Armagh Robinson Library. The project was supported by North-South Co-Operation Fund of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sports and Media.

This exhibition showcases images from Irish and world maps and atlases published in the three centuries after the year 1536.

We begin with some Irish towns and localities, before turning to maps of the island of Ireland. We then examine the cartography of our nearest neighbour as well as Europe and the wider world.
We finish with maps (sometimes fanciful!) of the ancient world.
