Melissa Ellis Print Demonstration

We were delighted to host the artist Melissa Ellis, who came in to show some local school students her work and demonstrate her techniques in printing.

We welcomed 3rd classes from Warrenmount Presentation Primary School and art students from the Grammar School, who watched Melissa prepare her copper plates with ink and create her trademark prints using a small printing press loaned by the Graphic Studio.

The younger students were full of questions for her, especially about her wire and masking tape skeletons that she had brought along.  Melissa gave advice and encouragement to the Grammar School students who for some had just submitted their portfolios to NCAD.

Melissa’s magical prints can still be seen in the library, exhibited and for sale along the panels of Gallery Two.

Many thanks go to her and all the students who were so attentive!
