Exhibition: ‘Go West: Early Views of North America’

‘Go West’ is an exhibition of 28 rare books and maps about North America from 1607 to 1809. It begins with the establishment of the first English colony on the Atlantic at Jamestown and ends with the western border of the new Republic reaching the Mississippi. Many of the rare items on display focus on the Native Americans encountered by the first settlers.
