Research Assistant on IRC-Funded Project at Marsh’s

Research Assistant, UCD School of History (Temporary)
This position has been created further to receipt of Irish Research Council funding under its 2015 New Horizons’ Research Project Grant scheme. The research assistant will work on the reconstruction of patterns of readership and reading in Dublin between 1826 and 1926. The project will collate and exploit data from unique extant records of readership at Marsh’s Library for this period and it will draw on Global Information System (GIS) technologies to provide an innovative research resource which will transform academic and popular understanding of Dublin’s cultural and literary history in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In conjunction with and under the supervision of the project lead investigator, the project research assistant will retrieve data from unique extant records of readership at Marsh’s Library for this period.
