Show and tell in the library

When 20 physics teachers came to the library, a very special book came out of storage.Their visit was facilitated by David Keenahan of Gongaza College. As well as giving them a tour, our keeper, Jason McElligott was able to show them some of the rarest and most fragile items that can’t be put in our exhibition. This example in the photo is a 1687 first edition of Isaac Newton’s Principia Mathematica in its original binding- a book that changed the world!
