Things to do in Dublin

We love getting out and about in Dublin! We’ve put together some links that you can use to plan your day.

Wandering in Stephen's Green, 1794
St Stephen’s Green, Dublin, from James Malton’s A Picturesque and descriptive view of the City of Dublin, 1791

A wander in Dublin’s heart

Marsh’s Library, looking out at St Patrick’s Cathedral from the first gallery

Right next door to Marsh’s Library is St Patrick’s Cathedral. We offer a joint ticket that lets you visit Marsh’s and the cathedral at a pace that suits you. That’s Dublin value! Book tickets here.

Exhibition in the Chester Beatty

Up the hill along Bride Street, you’ll find the award-winning Chester Beatty (and its lovely Silk Road Café) in the grounds of Dublin Castle.

The castle offers tours and exhibitions that change regularly — always a reason to return.

Christ Church Cathedral beckons from the very top of the hill, in the heart of the city. You’re surrounded by attractions in every direction.

Dublinia is just the other side of the bridge over the road at Christ Church. Explore Dublin’s Viking and medieval history, and look out from the tower over the bustle of the city.

The Long Room, Trinity College Dublin

You can head straight down Dame Street to Trinity College (pssst! the Marsh’s Library building is older than the famous Long Room…) and see the Book of Kells.

Something to eat or drink?

If you’re looking for a coffee when you leave Marsh’s, we recommend Two Pups or Bite of Life.

We haven’t even mentioned the delights of Dublin’s breweries and distilleries! Take in the Guinness Storehouse where you can sample a drop of the black stuff, or Teelings for an up-close look at the making of their whiskey.
