Visit of the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht

We were delighted to welcome Minister Heather Humphreys T.D. to the library.

The Minister was welcomed by Prof. Andrew Carpenter and Dr Philip Maddock on behalf of the Governors and Guardians of Marsh’s, and shown some items of interest from the library, ranging from the earliest printed book held here (printed in Milan, c. 1472) to a tiny catechism printed in 1845 in Monaghan. She also saw John Speed’s collection of maps from 1672.
