Volunteer call 2017

Marsh’s Library wishes to recruit a number of part-time volunteers to help with tourist visitors on Thursday and Friday mornings and afternoons.

Applicants should enjoy meeting people, and be outgoing, enthusiastic and articulate. A second language would be a distinct advantage.

Volunteers can choose to work for either one day per week or for half a day per week. Duties will include greeting visitors, giving tours and working with the security staff to ensure the safety of the books and the building. Full training will be provided.

This is a role in tourism and applicants will not be working directly with the collection of books and manuscripts. You will, however, get to work in one of the most unusual public spaces in Dublin. We can stretch to very fetching fleece jackets with Marsh’s logo on them, for the fashionistas among you.
